Scenario
Pieces may be tailored for any skill level or mixed skill levels!
For example, for a wedding you would like your sister, 12 years old, with moderate organ player skills, to play the organ while your aunty plays flute (great skills) and uncle sings ( he is an operatic tenor).
You fill out the quote form and I contact you, we spend 30 or 40 min on the phone (initial free consultation). During this time I run a few ideas by you to refine the kind of style and technicalities I am confined to work in for your project.
I will get right to work on the piece, and upload the audio work, sending you a link, you can hear its progress and even make some suggestions. I check back with you on the phone to get feedback and you approve the composition to proceed. All you hear is the organ part as a draft. I have spent 3 hours on the piece so I invoice you $210 + gst ($212.01). Then proceed to add the flute and voice. I indicate availabilities on my agenda add the other two parts, up load it and call you two days later. The composition is nearing finish and you are happy with the result having reviewed it online and in conversation. I invoice you a further 16 hours X $70 + gst ($1131).
- A package is prepared for immediate posting to you with containing-
- Ring bound printing of three copies one for each player.
- A cd recording containing
- the parts together and also
- each part alone +
- the ensemble minus each part individually. This is a kit that allows the musicians to practice together or individually.
- The package is mailed, registered post, to you or collected directly from me.
Also, you may contact for the additional rehearsal service of conducting as per required.
Price:
- Commissions are paid on a stage by stage basis. (I have completed work in the past and a client has not proceeded with their celebration)
- I am listed as the composer or arranger and you may perform or record the work.
- $70+gst per hour consultation free..
- From start to finish the above would likely take a week and include the score or chart.
- Rehearsal is best at the location where it is to be performed or my studio and would be based on the hourly rate.
- First consultation free, then hourly rate applies.
- I will complete a draft composition which may include my reworking your words and then you will decide if you want to proceed.
- Payment of your first installment (direct debit preferred) will lead to update the composition or provide you with rehearsable parts, (for example, the organ piece with out the other parts).
- I will continue with service then installment until you are satisfied.
